I am so blessed. I'm healthier than ever and am able to complete physically demanding walks, runs and biking events. My mom, Joyce Murphy, wasn't as fortunate. By the time she was 53, she had been diagnosed, fought and lost her battle with breast cancer. It is in her memory that I continue to rally for the cause of prevention and a cure for breast cancer. I have been racing since 1996 and have served in many capacities with this wonderful organization that fights so hard for the women of North Florida and women around the globe. I am now honored to serve on the North Florida Komen board of directors. This year, I will be boots on the ground to help bring the Race to reality. I'm super excited to announce that we have changed venues this year and will be racing on a beautiful route in the St. John's Town Center. Having moved race to the southside, we are hoping to get more people participating than ever.
I need your help. First I would like to ask for prayer partners to pray for the 1 in 8 women who will be diagnosed, for survivors who are fighting for their lives and for families who are agonizing over the the suffering of their moms, sisters, aunts, cousins, grandparents and friends. I need racers to walk, run, sleep in or cheer. Donations - always appreciated - large or small is not important to me...just act as you are led.
Pray, donate, join the team - your choice. Anything you do to contribute to the cause is a blessing to me. My commitment is to keep going and not stop until this disease is gone forever.
Eternally Grateful for Your Love, Friendship and Support,
Diana Murphy Mackoul
